TwO Skirt - Finalist of "Jean Prouvé" competition (2015)
At a time when saving energy and materials is needed, the modern numeric school do not need a radical material and immaterial transformation. Why throw away school furniture? I have decided to reveal it.
The coating is deteriorated while the current structure has proved its strength. No need to look for this quality if it is to get rid of it. What is more economic and ecological than to up-cycled the current furniture? I agreed that using tablet computers allows more mobility. This less restrictive and more interactive learning system facilitates the exchange between pupils, teachers and professionals. So the matter is furnitures' mobility more than its quality.
This project is for primary school. At a moment when children are aware of the ecology. The structure of school furnitures would be reused on this projet. The digital school leads to more relaxed, non-fixed postures. For that, my projet turns away the structure to offer different positions and so different school atmospheres.
